How do I get to the island?

STEP 1 - Installation

Download to your computer and install virtual learning platform application VirBELA Open Campus.

The file for PC/Windows is here.

The file for Apple/Mac is here.

Once you have downloaded the installation file, run it by double-clicking on the downloaded file icon, then follow the on-screen instructions to install the application.

If a browser or anti-virus prompt appears during installation, click "Trust/Run..."

Installation takes about 10-20 minutes, depending on the speed of your internet connection.

IMPORTANT!
When starting the application for the first time Give permission for the application to access the microphone! If you don't, others on the island won't be able to hear you!

SCREEN SETTINGS

When starting the application on a PC/Windows computer, apply the following settings:

Screen resolution: 1280×720
Graphics quality: Fastest
Select monitor: Display 1

Check the box "Windowed" and press the " buttonPLAY!”

If you have a powerful computer and a good graphics card, you can use a higher screen resolution and choose better quality graphics for an even better experience.

STEP 2 - REGISTRATION

If you have received a username and password from us in the email invitation, use them to log in and skip this step.

If you have previously participated in any AVATARLAND event, you can use the same login details to log in and continue using the avatar you created previously.

And if you have never used the VirBELA platform before, simply press the REGISTER.

Enter the following in the appropriate fields of the registration window:

your e-mail address (Email field),
your own password to log in to the platform (Password),
[min. 8 characters, min. one capital letter and one number].
name without polish letters (First Name),
name without polish letters (Last Name),
the name of the company or organisation (Organization).

Select as appropriate in the drop-down boxes below:

"I'm just exploring"
and indicate the size of your company/organisation.

Finally, accept the privacy policy and terms of use of the platform and press the "Register Now„.

STEP 3 - CREATE YOUR AVATAR

You will navigate through the virtual conference centre avatarThe person who represents you should look similar to you so that other participants can recognise you easily.

The first time you launch the platform, you will have the opportunity to define the appearance of your avatar.

Start with the first icon on the top left of the screen and select your gender (male/female). In further steps you can change the other parts of your avatar's appearance.

Elements that you can customise:

headgear, hairstyle, eyes, glasses, face shape, blouse/shirt, jacket/jacket, trousers/dress, shoes.

Press arrow buttons under your avatar to change your selection. You can also customise the colour of individual garments with the coloured buttons below.

In conclusion save the appearance of your avatar by pressing the icon GREEN DOORS at the bottom right of the screen.

The shortcut: Press the dice icon several times to select and save a random avatar appearance. Keep in mind, however, that your friends will then have a hard time recognizing you by your appearance!!! 🙂

STEP 4 - WELCOME TO THE VIRTUAL WORLD!

Once you have saved your avatar, you will find yourself on a virtual island among other participants in the event. You can move using the arrow keys, you can talk with others by pressing and holding down the "1" key.

You will be welcomed by VirBELI's English-speaking staff, who will help you take your first steps into the virtual world. If you don't speak English, don't worry! Just wave hello by pressing the "F1" key and you can explore the island on your own.
